McKenzie Art Gallery
The McKenzie Art Gallery was formed by McKenzie College with the assistance of Crombie Properties, a Sobey company, at the Moncton Campus.
The purpose of the Gallery is to create public awareness and to celebrate the value of visual art, by local talent. The Gallery also provides scholarships and encouragement to students in local high schools and universities, entering programs in visual arts. Students from Mount Allison, NB Community College and McKenzie College have all received $1000 scholarships to further their studies.
This public art space has hosted the High Five Art Exhibit, a display of over 100 works from local High Schools, an Exhibit of over 250 pieces by local Art teacher Joe Collins and 35 of his students, and recently, a retrospective of 110 works from the Moncton Art Society from 1926 to 1968. The Gallery is home to the Provincial Art Fair, in May. Various Artists in New Brunswick, including Guy Duguay, Richard Flynn, Barbara Safran, Groupe Cafe artistes Acadiene Group, and Ned Bear participate in shows at the Gallery.
