Visual Arts Foundation Diploma Program This 8 month program is for aspiring artists and designers who would like to pursue visual arts programs and have an interest in developing their skills and creative sense in drawing, painting, and design concepts. Students will learn by working in acreative studio environment that allows them to develop criticaland creativethinking. Career Opportunities After graduation you can choose to continue to study and develop at McKenzie College or at another art and design school. Many of these programs, for example, can lead to an exciting career in the animation industry, working as part of the creative team for an advertising firm, in a TV/film production company, or a digital media production house. This program is meant to help students develop as artists and designers and expose them to a variety of opportunities using their visual arts skills. Exposure to a variety of artistic styles and innovative designs will help build confidence in the student to produce a portfolio of works that will give an advantage to application for further study, scholarships and mentorship opportunities. Materials Students will provide their own materials for drawing and painting (paper, canvases, charcoal, paints, brushes, etc.). A standardized artist’s package is available for purchase if the student will already have a variety of materials necessary to complete the projects. Easels and drawing boards will be provided by the school. Students are encouraged to work on projects during class and studio time and to use balance in their personal commitments and creative development.
