This course is designed for digital SLR users that want to learn how to quickly and confidently set manual exposures, and gain a better understanding of composition basics. This is an intro level class, although intermediate users are likely to benefit. All components of setting an exposure: Aperture, shutter speed, film speed, and the light meter will be explored. We look at other technical issues like white balance, focus technique, custom functions etc. The purpose of this class is to teach students that technical settings like focal length, aperture, and shutter speeds should be viewed as creative decisions that shape the messages photos communicate. The class also aims to teach students basic principles of design and how to apply them when composing a photograph.

Students will also be be invited to at least one field trip.

Please note that space is limited to 15 students per session. Seats are reserved by paying 100% of the fee listed above and that sum is non-refundable. Prices include tax.
