Description:

This 10-month diploma program provides students with the skills necessary for a career as a 2D and 3D animator, modeller, texture artist, in a typical animation/ art department within the fields of television animation and mobile/ interactive video games.

Building on the design skills and animation basics learned in the Video Game Art program, our TV & Game Animation students will learn to bring their designs to life through dynamic and entertaining 2D and 3D animation.

Within a professional collaborative team environment, the students will learn to use the principles of animation to create convincing character movement and acting. Also, they will create all the visual assets, (backgrounds, models, textures and animation) needed for the demands of today’s TV and Game animation markets.

The course will cover subjects such as 12 Principles of Animation, 2D and 3D character animation, 2-legged and 4-legged character animation, Scene planning, advanced Character Design and Environment/ Background Design, using tools such as Autodesk Maya, Sketchbook Pro and Adobe Creative Cloud.

The students will progress through a curriculum that combines a variety of assignments and projects, allowing them to build an extensive portfolio and a Demo Reel of their completed animation necessary in applying for any position in these fields.

Upon completion of the program, our students will posses the necessary skills to obtain a position as an entry-level animator for companies that produce 2D and 3D television series, commercials, video games, mobile games and interactive educational content.
